Northwest Washington's peak tourist season is late July and August. Kids are out of school, and families go on vacation.

If you plan to lay on the beach and get a tan, late July and August is the time to vacation in Northwest Washington.

But, if your kids are grown up, you can vacation when you want to, right?!

Cathryn and I live in northwest Washington. With a wink and a nod, Cathryn and I will tell you that early Sept through mid-October is the best time to vacation in Northwest Washington.

The kids are back in school, the crowds have thinned out, and temperatures hover around 70 degrees (Yes!!).

The weather can be unpredicable, of course. But, to Cathryn and me, early September through mid-October is heavenly.
